William Joseph Watkins

William J. Watkins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 28, 2023, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

William was born on August 17, 1967, in Brookings, South Dakota, to Robert and Constance Watkins.

William was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else. On February 8, 1992, he married the love of his life, Rhonda Bielema. Their marriage was a true partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. However, the loss of Rhonda on December 13, 2020, left a void in William's heart that he carried until his own passing.

William was a proud father to three children, Faith Rivers and Joseph Watkins and the late Barbra Watkins, who brought immense joy to his life. He was a loving and nurturing grandfather to his two grandchildren, Audrey Watkins and Ronnie Rivers. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and always made sure to create lasting memories with them.

A man of many interests, William was particularly drawn to computer technology and 3D printing. In his leisure time, William found solace in watching science fiction shows and movies, with Star Trek and Stargate SG1 being his favorites. He delighted in exploring otherworldly adventures and expanding his imagination through these captivating narratives.

William's endearing sense of humor was one of his defining qualities. He had a knack for cracking jokes, even if they were delightfully cheesy. His quick wit and playful spirit brought laughter and smiles to those around him, and he never missed an opportunity to brighten someone's day with his comedic charm.

As we bid farewell to William, we remember the profound impact he had on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His warm presence, unwavering support, and genuine love will forever be cherished.
