Vicki Mae Rife

Vicki Mae Rife, age 76, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on March 21, 2026, at UnityPoint Health - Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Vicki was born on March 15, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a proud graduate of Tech High School.

A woman of quiet strength and deep faith, Vicki was a devoted member of Evangelistic Missionary Church of God in Christ. In 2022, she was honored for her dedication when she was installed on the Mother's Board. She faithfully served her church and community, extending love and compassion through her role as a Foster Grandparent Volunteer and by warmly opening her home to others.

Vicki found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading books, completing crossword puzzles, playing games, and watching her favorite shows. Known for her wisdom and gentle spirit, she was a source of guidance and comfort to all who sought her counsel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Rife Sr. , her father and mother Euric Fountain Sr. and Rosie Lee McGregor, her brother Russell Daye and her baby daughter, Twyla Rife.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, including Tess Adams; her son Mondale Rife Sr.; and her devoted son-in-law, Tumma Green Sr. She is also survived by her siblings Connie Mangra and Robert McGregor, both of Des Moines; her grandchildren Juwan, DaCarius, Aliyah Weatherspoon, Tumma Jr., Tamia Green, LaShay, and Markeis Rife; her great-grandchildren Jordynn, Nova, Jeremiah, Amor, Jamia Weatherspoon, Nami Robinson, and Zamyah Hawkins; and a host of extended family and friends.

Vicki's legacy is one of faith, love, and hope. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
