Vanessa Coverdale-Gish

Vanessa Marie Coverdale Gish passed away peacefully March 20, 2024 at Taylor House in Des Moines, Iowa after an illness. Vanessa was delighted with visitors during her hospitalization.

Vanessa was born February 20, 1980 in Central America, adopted by Stephen and Marcia Coverdale and brought to Des Moines to live by her adoptive parents.

Vanessa loved family, Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Cowboys, the color "purple", animals, flowers, music, picnics and shopping. She will remembered as a caring person with a contagious laugh and desire to have fun with family and friends.

Vanessa was an East High School graduate and worked retail jobs, most recently at Quik Trip.

Vanessa is survived by her son, Alek Gish, daughter Alexis Gish and grandson, Kayden Gish; her previous husband, Kevin Gish and sister-in-law, Shaunda Yates, mother-in-law, Sherri Gish and father-in-law, John Gish; step brother, Thomas Coverdale and her parents Stephen and Marcia Coverdale and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank all hospital staff for the attentive care, courtesy and thoughtfulness. She will be missed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in her memory.
