Tim Trogdon

Tim Trogdon, age 51, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on April 19, 2025, in Des Moines.

Born on February 22, 1974, to Edwin and Laurel Trogdon, Tim brought laughter, light, and warmth into the lives of everyone who knew him. He was known for his incredible sense of humor - the kind that could brighten a room and make anyone's day a little better. Whether you knew him for years or had just met him, Tim made you feel like a friend.

Tim had a heart for helping others. He was the first one to lend a hand, show up when needed, or offer a good laugh at just the right time. He was passionate about music, with a deep love for all genres - but classic rock had his heart. Whether he was driving down the highway or manning the grill at a backyard get-together, there was always a great song playing in the background.

He took pride in his truck, often found working on it or giving it a good shine. His lawn and garden were his personal sanctuary, and he poured care and attention into every flower bed and blade of grass. Tim also loved getting out on the water, taking road trips to nowhere in particular, and had a special fondness for Christmas lights - the more dazzling, the better.

Tim was a master on the grill and loved nothing more than hosting gatherings, firing up the BBQ, and enjoying time with his favorite people. His two best friends, Jake and Denny, were like brothers to him, and their bond was filled with laughter, adventure, and countless unforgettable memories.

Tim leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love - a life well-lived and deeply cherished. He will be missed more than words can express, but his spirit will live on in the songs we play, the jokes we tell, and the smoky scent of a backyard barbecue on a summer night.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Jo; six daughters, Desiree, Miranda, Marcia, Hollie, Macie and Mallory; three granddaughters, Addy, Jackie and Paden Jo; grandsons, Jaxson and Carson; three brothers, Chuck, Mike and Jason; four sisters, Cathy, Sherri, Wanda and Jamie; step-mother, Cheryl; parents in law, Nancy and Paul; and many nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jr. Trogdon; and niece, Jaiana Cooper.

Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Simplify Cremations and Funerals in Des Moines. A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am and a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
