Terry Lee Jewett

Terry Lee Jewett, 58, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on July 2, 2026, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Terry was born on June 4, 1968, in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended East High School and spent his working years with Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART) and Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Terry shared his life with his domestic partner, Selina, and treasured the time they spent together.

An avid sports fan, Terry was a devoted Green Bay Packers supporter who rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. Above all else, he loved spending time with his only son, TJ Jewett and his very first grandson, Ty'mire Gary-Lee. Whether celebrating holidays, watching a game, or simply enjoying each other's company, those moments meant the most to him. He enjoyed being a part of the Eastside Family Association.

Terry is survived by his son, Terrance Jefferson Jewett; his domestic partner, Selina; his grandchild, Ty'mire Gary-Lee Jewett; and a host of cousins; his aunt Linda Jewett and uncle John Albert Jewett, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marla Jean Jewett and his grandfather, John Albert Jewett, Sr. and grandmother, Betty Jewett.

Terry will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty to those he cared about, and his enthusiasm for the Green Bay Packers. His warm heart and easygoing nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The Celebration of Life will be held at The Martin Luther King Enclosed Shelter, 1650 Garfield Ave, Des Moines, Iowa 50316 on July 25, 2026 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.
