Terri Lynn Cropp

September 11, 1983 — March 8, 2024

Terri "Teak" Lynn Cropp, 40, of Des Moines, IA, passed away on March 8, 2024. Terri was born on September 11, 1983, to Floyd Cropp III and Terri Brown. Terri was affectionally known as Teak. Teak attended North High School in Des Moines, IA, where she graduated in May of 2002.

Teak never had any children of her own, but she had Nieces and Nephews, that she loved with all her heart. Terri took pride in always being on top of whatever they had going on in their lives. She always knew where they were at, what jobs they worked, what plans they would have for their weekends, when school would be out. She never missed a birthday or opportunity to express her love for them. Teak also had four puppies that she loved so much. One she shared custody with her sister Candice (Leo), and three other puppy nieces and nephew, Diamond, Blue and Louie. She loved these dogs with all her heart, and she would come to visit them often.

Teak had a great love also for her mother, brother, and sisters. Like with her nieces and nephews, she never missed an opportunity to celebrate them. She was faithful with calls and cards in the mail, for every single birthday, holiday, or anniversary…she never missed one. Teak's love was contagious, and she never stayed mad long. She went out of her way to always give the nicest complements. Always let all of us know how beautiful we looked, that she loved what we were wearing; even on a day when you didn't feel like you looked your best, she could make you feel like you were the star of the show. Teak was one our biggest cheerleaders.

Teak had a boyfriend that she loved dearly, and his name is Ira Harris. Teak and Ira spent a lot of time talking on the phone, sending gifts to each other and spending time together. Ira was good to Teak, and we all appreciated their special bond.

As much as Teak loved, Teak was loved. There are not enough words to express how much her family and friends loved Teak. Teak never met a stranger. She befriended everyone, she didn't care who you were or what you had going on in your life. Teak didn't judge, she just genuinely enjoyed the people she had in her life. Teak's presences will be truly missed, by all who knew and loved her.

Terri leaves to mourn, her mother Terri (Mike) Brown-Hutchinson, her siblings Doug and Nakia Ewing, Candice Cropp, and Stephanie Cropp. Her nieces and nephews, Doug N. Ewing, Darian Toscano, Jurmanee Ewing, Cahlil Taylor, Nyelah Robinson, Floyd Ewing, and Chevelle Robinson. Her boyfriend Ira Harris, her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her father Floyd Cropp III, her grandparents on both sides of her family. Also, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
