Susan Dianne Conner

Susan Conner, 72, of Des Moines, passed away from her battle with dementia at the Genesis Senior Living Facility on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Susan was born on July 25, 1950 to Ray and Maxine (Johnston) Everling in Creston, Iowa. She graduated high school from Norwalk Schools in 1968. She attended DMACC and graduated with an associate's degree in nursing in 1990. Susan worked for many area nursing homes in Des Moines and surrounding areas. She loved all of her patients and residents.

Susan was a huge Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. She watched many of their games when she could. Susan was always on the go and could never sit still. She always had to be doing something. She liked to crochet. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who all called her Grandma Sue.

Susan is survived by her children, Amy (Josh) Van Baale, Brad Zeroni, and Ryan Zeroni; sister, Sheila Everling; grandchildren, Chelsea, Austin, Brianna, Hailey, Bradley, Jadyn, Jade, Elaina, and Ryan Elizabeth; 4 great grandchildren; and nephews, Doug and James Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Fletcher; and nephews, Robert and Tracy Fletcher.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Simplify Cremations and Funerals. A private burial will take place in the Norwalk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
