Steven Dale Green

Steven Green of Des Moines, IA passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024 at the age of 74.

Steve was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. We are reminded of the phrase "some gave all, but all gave some" in reference to a combat veteran's service, and it is agreed that while Steve did not pay with his life, he certainly carried his service with him until the end.

Throughout his life, Steve was a classic car and motorcycle enthusiast who found connection with others through Good Guys and his local Harley Owner's Group. He enjoyed woodturning and tinkering around the house in his free time, and always appreciated a good joke. As such, it does not escape notice that he left us on Friday the 13th.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Art and Betty Green and many beloved pets including his English bulldog Dexter. He is survived by his three daughters Cynthia Green, Leslie Green, and Stephanie Green and his grandchildren Xavier (Josie) Powers, Wyatt Powers, Quinn Powers, Milo Conway and Ren Conway. Also his sisters Gloria (George) Aswegan, Audrey Mitchell, and Susan (Jack) Rethmeier.

A military service with full honors and celebration of life will follow in the spring, when Steve would have enjoyed the weather.
