Sharon Lea (Harsh) Burch, 82, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston on October 6, 2022.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Simplify Cremations & Funerals, 4821 SW 9th St., Des Moines, IA. Funeral services for Sharon will be at 10:00 am on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the funeral home followed by a donut and coffee reception. Burial will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Sharon was born to Charles and Lerree Harsh on August 19, 1940. She graduated from Lincoln High School in January of 1959.

Sharon worked as a mail clerk for Central Life Assurance Company for 30 years. Later, Sharon went on to work part-time as a lunch lady for the Des Moines Public School District until her retirement in 2013. She attended church at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Des Moines and later Shepherd of the Valley Church in West Des Moines.

She enjoyed roller skating in her younger years, dancing to country music and has been known to enjoy a shot of Fireball with friends. Sharon enjoyed talking with friends and family.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Sharee (Jason) Grubb of Des Moines; grandchildren, Bryan Grubb residing in Texas, Rebecca (Beayahn) Carrllo residing in Virginia, and Victoria Grubb of Des Moines; one great-grandchild, Rozzie-Omunique Carrllo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lerree and one sister, Barbara.
