Schuyler David Haines, 61, of Newton, IA, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025 at his home.

Schuyler was born on July 7th, 1963, the son of James William and Mary Jane (Sumner) Haines in Des Moines, Ia. Schuyler was raised in the Des Moines area his whole life. He found out at a young age that adaptability was a strong suit of his. With this, he found many talents. He was known as an artistic soul as he was talented with drawing. Musically, he found no instrument that he could not play. He was known for having a keen ear to music and loved all genres. Music was a ever flowing expression of his life. Known as a observant soul, Schuyler would be able to make anyone he came in contact with laugh within minutes. He loved nature, especially the mountains. He had a deep love for the Native American culture and lifestyle. Schuyler will be missed for his loyal nature, observant personality, and the deep love he gave to his family.

Schuyler was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Duane Haines and Brian Haines.

Left to cherish his memory are; children: Seana Cunningham, Skyla Grave-Haines, Teiler (Nick Schillinger) Haines, Joey (Carla) Lyons; 10 grandchildren; brother: James (Mini) Haines; sisters: Rebecca (Jim) Ervin, Ramona (Tom) Sharp, Rachel (Allan) Crandall, and Billie (Kent) Stewart; sister-in-law, Charlotte Haines; Uncle: Richard Haines; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
