Sandra M Fister

Sandra "Sandy" M. Fister, 61, of West Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on September 13th, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was born on December 13th, 1964, in Des Moines and earned an associate degree.

Sandy spent many years caring for others through her work in home health care. She worked in the field for approximately 30 years, dedicating her time to helping and supporting those in need.

Those who knew her enjoyed her goofy, quirky side. She had a creative and thoughtful spirit. She loved her animals and people. She enjoyed reading, working on sudoku puzzles, drawing, writing poetry, being in nature, and music.

Sandy is survived by her children, Amber and David; her granddaughter, Sophie; brothers, John and Bill; and her father, Claude. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Hare; her brother, JR; and her granddaughter, Koralynn.

She will be remembered for her caring nature, her creativity, and the quiet pleasures that brought meaning to her life. The music she jammed to, the books she enjoyed, the poems she wrote, and the time she shared with those she loved are all pieces of a life that will continue to be remembered.

Sandy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place.
