Sally Elaine Prince

Sally Elaine Prince, 73, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Sally was born on January 5, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Howard Lee Prince and Maxine Ruth (Bird) Prince. She graduated from East High School in 1971.

Throughout her life, Sally worked for various companies, primarily as an administrative assistant. No matter where she worked, she built lasting friendships and connections with those around her. She had a caring heart, a quick wit, and a personality that naturally made people feel welcome.

She was always willing to open her heart and home to anyone that was in need. There were many who came in and out of her life that she loved and treated like family.

Sally loved crafting, sewing, and crocheting, often creating handmade gifts and keepsakes for the people she loved most. She found joy in making things for others and sharing her creativity with family and friends.

One of Sally's proudest accomplishments was earning her second-degree black belt in Taekwondo. She was always quick to tell anyone that although she may have been small, she could still "take you down." Her passion for martial arts led her to own and operate Heartland Family Martial Arts for several years. Sally considered every student who walked through the doors to be one of her "kids," regardless of age. She became known as the "club mom," offering encouragement, support, and love to everyone she met.

Sally is survived by her four children; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister, Janet Bolton; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Maxine Prince; her granddaughter, Hope Phipps; and her brothers, David Prince and Alan Prince.

In accordance with Sally's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Police Association Recreational Center (PARC), 5374 NE 12th Avenue, Pleasant Hill, IA
