Roy Dwight Hough

Roy Dwight Hough (Uncle Roy), 72, formerly of Gilmore City, Iowa and Salina, Kansas passed away March 19, 2026 at Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab center in Urbandale Iowa. He was born May 28, 1953 in Wakeeney, Kansas to Claude E Hough and Lois Electa (Rhoades) Hough.

Roy graduated May 1975 from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina Kansas with a degree in Biology.

Roy enjoyed his hobby of photography. He also enjoyed science and nature. Roy was a great soloist and sang growing up at Grace Baptist Temple in Salina, Kansas, many churches while at Kansas Wesleyan University, and at First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City, Iowa.

Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Hough, Father Claude Hough and his two sisters, Priscilla Meyer of Gilmore City, Iowa and Kathleen Miller of Greeley Coloardo, sister in law Barbara Hough, Fayetteville, Arkansas, brother in law Larry Meyer of Gilmore City, Iowa,

Roy is survived by his brother Dan Hough of Fayetteville, Arkansas, brother in law Jack Miller of Greeley Colorado, 10 Nieces and Nephews and their spouses (Pam and Bill Hendershot, Duane and Rose Thompson, Mark and Sally Thompson, Kevin and Erin Thompson, Lori and Rod Miller, Jeanette Edge, Rachel Hough, Cindy and Bill Karsch, Darron and Francine Miller, Roxeanne and Dan Smith), 17 Great Nieces and Nephews and their spouses (Nathan and Allie Hendershot, Eric and Jummy Hendershot, Tyler Hendershot, Miranda Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, Shelby Thompson, Madeline and Marc Suderman, Grant and Sabrina Thompson, Delaney Thompson, Nicole and Eric Barnett, Adam and Tana Miller, Jacob Miller and fiancé Melody Kerperien, Joshua Miller, Logan and Charlie Edge, Bobby Karsch, Derek Karsch, and Danielle Smith) and 13 Great-Great Nieces and Nephews (Brooks Hendershot, Bobby and Tiffany Jones, Tyson, Kendra, and Blair Suderman, Annabelle, Aiden, Adele, Andy, and Addie Barnett, Dax and Freya Miller).
