Ronald "Ron" Beghtel

Ronald "Ron" Beghtel of South Des Moines, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at EveryStep Kavanagh House, surrounded by family.

Ron was born on February 7, 1950 to parents, Clarence and Grace Beghtel of Des Moines. At eighteen, Ron married his childhood sweetheart, Nancy (Wilbert) Beghtel. In 1968, Ron and Nancy welcomed their first son, Robert, closely followed by son, Scottie, in 1970.

Ron was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching sports, and sneaking food to his dogs. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors with wife Nancy caring for their yard and pond.

He is preceded in death by his son, Scottie, his parents, father and mother in-law, Charles and Elsie Wilbert, and many beloved four-legged family members.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy; son, Robert; grandchildren, Twanice (Christopher) Mahoski and Gearet Beghtel; great-grandchildren, Jillian Baker and Leighton Mahoski; brother, Donnie (Linda) Beghtel, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and family members.

Visitation for Ron will be Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Simplify Cremations & Funerals, 4821 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.  A memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
