Ronald N. Johnson, age 85, of Waukee, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa. Ronald was born on September 8, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Norman A. and Francis V. (née Anderson) Johnson.

Ronald spent his formative years in Fort Dodge, where he graduated from high school in 1954. He then pursued higher education at the University of Iowa, earning his bachelor's degree. After college, Ronald moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where he would build a life full of love and

accomplishments.

In Des Moines, Ronald met the love of his life, Janet, and together they enjoyed 61 wonderful years of marriage. Ronald dedicated 25 years of his professional life to working as an accountant at Firestone in Des Moines.

Ronald had a passion for golf and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, supporting their football, wrestling, and basketball teams with fervor. In his retirement, Ronald found great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports and attending their various activities.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Janet Johnson; children, Eric Johnson (Karen), Seth Johnson (Lisa), and Teri Ellwanger (Dave); grandchildren, Jared and Justin Johnson, Tucker, Campbell and Lindsey Johnson, and Brittany Lockey, Kaleigh Avis and Daniel Strong; great-grandchildren,

Myles Lockey, Izaac Lockey and Vivian Avis; brother, Mark F. Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carol Ann Lowe.

A visitation will occur at 10:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am on July 20, 2024, at Urban Heights Covenant Church in Urbandale. There will be a luncheon following the service.
