Ronald Crouse

Ronald "Mike" Eugene Crouse, 82, passed away peacefully at home in Des Moines on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Mike was born April 29, 1940 to Ralph and Mary Crouse in Iowa City, Iowa.

Mike was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 in Wurzburg, Germany. He worked as a Master Scheduler at Firestone for 39 years. Upon retirement, he worked part-time at Wells Fargo. He loved spending time with family. Mike also loved playing cards with his family and best friends, Chuck and Carroll. He had a real love for his television shows, especially Judge Judy.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Brigitte; children, Stefan (Mary Helen) Crouse, Birgit (Mark) Van Roekel, Harold (Elizabeth) Crouse; grandchildren Joshua (Noel), Mitchell, and Samantha; great-grandchildren Emma and Ethan. From a previous marriage, son Ron (Cindi) Richey and daughter Laurendia Denning; additional grand and great-grandchildren; brother John (Zona) Crouse; sister Shirley Waddill; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert and sisters Wanda, Barbara, Peggy, Patty, Laurel and Sandra.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on January 19, 2023 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel, IA. A luncheon will be served after services at the Veterans Reception Center, 910 Main St., Van Meter, IA.
