Robert William Kirkman

Robert William Kirkman, 58, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away in June 15, 2026 at his home.

Robert was born on July 22, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from East High School and spent his working years as a mechanic and a bartender at Hull Ave Tap. He especially enjoyed his time tending bar, where he had the opportunity to meet new people, share stories, and build friendships with customers and coworkers alike.

Robert was a man who loved the outdoors and cherished time spent with family. Fishing was one of his greatest passions, and he was happiest with a fishing pole in hand, regardless of the time of day. He also enjoyed gathering family together for games of baseball and football, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Above all, Robert loved his children and grandchildren. He valued every opportunity to spend time with them and took great pride in watching his family grow. His sense of humor, generous spirit, and love for being surrounded by those he cared about made him someone who was easy to love and impossible to forget.

He is survived by his children, Ashly Kephart, Hope (Hunter Brown) Kupcake, and Andrew (Jenny) Kirkman; grandchildren, Liah Pasco, Akyliah Harding, Logan Harding, Kaedon Kephart, Seth Kirkman, Ava Kirkman, and Mayzie Kirkman.

He is also survived by his siblings, Tom Kirkman, Lenor Kelsey, and Shannon Lewis.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, George Kirkman and Mert (Carl) Lami and his grandchildren, Baby Kephart and Evan Kirkman.

Robert will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for fishing, his friendly nature, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
