Robert Gene Garrison, Jr.

Robert Gene Garrison Jr., 61, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away happy and peacefully at home on April 1, 2026, after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

Bob was born on February 21, 1965, in Des Moines, IA, he built a life rooted in hard work, dedication and perseverance. He dabbled in various industries and found work with Smith Properties where he mastered carpentry and handyman work. He went on to establish his own Carpentry/Handyman business for the rest of his time here. He truly loved his work.

On August 31, 2000, Bob married his soulmate, Paula (Greenfield) Garrison. Together for 38 years, they shared 3 homes, two private and one rental. His love was their 5 acres in Runnells, IA that they possessed for 15 years. They built a life filled with love, family, friends, resilience, and shared memories.

Bob was a man who found joy in the outdoors. He lived for hunting and fishing and was a strong advocate for gun rights. He enjoyed outdoor and cooking programs; he loved to cook EVERYTHING!! He also indulged in long summer motorcycle rides, long frisbee games, watching any type of boxing and had an undying love of tattooing. He was a devoted, patient, and HUGE HEARTED Father to his children. He spoiled his daughter Ivy all her life from the time she was born to his last day. She was deemed his "Mini Me" with her "Bob-Brow" from her first day forward, doing everything for her and his wife and teaching his daughter valuable life skills as they did everything together. She will dearly and profoundly miss him to her own final days,

These passions reflected his independent spirit and appreciation for time spent with friends, family and the great outdoors. Bob lived a very full and robust life while here with us.

He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Wilson and sister Tammy Garrison.

Robert will be deeply missed and lovingly respected and remembered by all who knew him.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the funeral home. A Celebration of Life family and friend's memorial will be held April 18th, 2026, 1 PM to 3 PM at Bianchi's Hilltop Restaurant 2820 Hubbell Ave Des Moines, IA 50317. Memorials may also be sent to the family at 2605 E. Douglas Des Moines, IA 50317.
