Robert Boudinot, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on February 22, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Born on August 11, 1953, to Kenneth and Patricia Boudinot, Robert brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.
As a child, Robert was known for his adventurous spirit and active involvement in Cub Scouts, where he developed friendships and a love for the outdoors. His enthusiasm for exploration and learning continued into adulthood, where he found joy in attending car auctions and indulging his passion for automobiles.
After graduating from high school, Robert served his country in the United States Army for four years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment to his fellow servicemen and women. Following his military service, he embarked on a career with the US Postal Service, where he dedicated himself to providing reliable and efficient mail delivery to the community he served.
He leaves behind cherished memories with his family and friends, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
He is survived by sisters, Susan Taylor and Rebecca Lester; nieces, Barbara Reed, Brenda Reed, Geri Wilson (Rick), Rebecca Carl, Tiffany Dunlap-Geyer, Kayla Coles, and Rose Davis; nephews, James Davis, George Dunlap, Harold Dunlap, John Dunlap, Tim Smith Jr., and Caleb Coles; great-nieces, Allie Reed, Alisha Reed, and Tajsa Wilson; and great-nephews, Cody Reed Austin Reed, Zach Wilson, and Zach Shamerhorn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Boudinot, and niece, Karie Davis.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at Evergreen Church of Christ on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 1:00 pm, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.
