Bob Bennett, 69, died at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center on Thursday, February 5, 2026. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Community Center in Carlisle, Iowa.

Robert Bennett was born on January 4, 1957 to Kenneth Russell Bennett and Ruth Luella (nee: Brown) Bennett in Seattle, Washington.

Bob Bennett was a one-of-a-kind listener. Bob was known as a nice guy who was a loyal Seattle Seahawks, Washington Huskies, Portland Trailblazers, and Iowa State University fan who enjoyed carpentry work, collecting coins, Stephen King novels, science fiction, camping, fishing, and spending time in the mountains.

He was a small business owner in Oregon, sold it, and relocated to Knoxville, Iowa. Bob completed multiple degrees from Des Moines Area Community College, Iowa State University, University of Phoenix Online. He worked in direct care, healthcare coordination, and supervisory roles at Link Associates in Des Moines, Iowa serving adults with special needs. While at Link Associates Bob met and married Glenda L. Hyde. Bob and Glenda lived the rest of their lives in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Bennett, father, Kenneth Bennett, his sister, Jeanine Stephens, his late wife, Glenda Bennett in 2022, and his brother, Dennis Bennett. Bob is survived by his sister Delores Oakley in Salem, Oregon and his children, Mario J. Bennett and Angela BK Bennett along with Jessica Powers, Rose Plum, and Ryan Eddis, and several nieces and nephews. His children and only grandchild, Ella, are accepting contributions to the Go Fund Me dedicated to Bob's Loving Memory, https://gofund.me/73437dc9a online.
