Raymond Lee Roe

Raymond Lee Roe, 80, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on September 11, 2026, at his home.

Raymond was born on January 22, 1946, in Leon, Iowa, to Charles Melvin Roe and Evelyn Wilson Roe. He graduated from East High School and went on to spend many years working as a maintenance mechanic. Throughout his career, Raymond worked for Armstrong/Pirelli/Titan Tire, Firestone, and Prairie Meadows Racetrack, including 31 years at his longest-held position.

Raymond married Glenda Roe on November 9, 1986. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, friendship, and plenty of good times. Some of Raymond's favorite memories were made riding his Honda Gold Wing, traveling with Glenda in their RV, dancing, riding trails on their UTV, and playing cards with friends.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Glenda; his children, Raymond Lee Roe Jr. and Renee Johnson; grandchildren, Amanda Barrett, Mattie Roe, Matthew Roe, Daniel Roe, Everett Johnson, Logan Johnson, and Alex Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Lillian and Jameson Barrett, and Luke, Mark, and Adele Roe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn Roe; and his siblings, Mel Roe and Judy Rice.

Raymond will be remembered for the life he shared with those he loved and for the many miles, adventures, card games, dances, and memories made along the way.
