Phillip Alan Hruska, age 69, of Ankeny, IA passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025 after an extended illness.
Phillip was born on September 7, 1955, the son of Delph Rudolph and Edith Nancy May (Foster) Hruska in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He grew up in the Ft Dodge area and after graduating high school, he entered into the armed services. Phillip initially entered into the United States Air Force for two years before he transferred to the United States Army. He spent 20 years serving in the United States Army, ultimately retiring as a SSG. During his service, he was a Military Police Officer and a Physical Activities Specialist. After the armed services, Phillip worked in many different areas still involved in public safety including the Iowa Department of Corrections out of Newton, as well as a local private security firm.
Phillip loved the movies and taking his kids was his favorite thing to do with them as they were growing up. He was an avid sports fan and admired all sporting events. His favorite by all was Larry Bird with the Boston Celtics. When it came to football, Phillip had a fierce love for the Green Bay Packers. One of the most prized sayings from Phillip was "You can't always do your best, but you can always try your hardest".
