Peggy Ann Coleman

May 26, 1953 — September 24, 2025

Peggy Ann (Rummley) Coleman, age 72, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away.

Peggy was born on May 26, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Leo and Edith Rummley. She grew up in the area and graduated from Saydel High School with the Class of 1972. She dedicated her working years to caring for others, serving as a housekeeper at Broadlawns Medical Center and working evenings in the kitchen at UnityPoint Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Her strong work ethic and compassionate spirit touched many lives.

Peggy had a deep love for the simple joys in life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing trips, long walks, cooking (especially her famous fully loaded pizza), and spending quiet moments outdoors. She found comfort and entertainment in old westerns and classic television favorites like The Andy Griffith Show, Roy Rogers, and Daniel Boone. Her home was often filled with the familiar voices of country legends such as Charlie Rich, Elvis Presley, and Kenny Rogers.

But above all else, Peggy's heart belonged to her home and to her loving husband, Richard. Being with him brought her the greatest happiness, and their bond was the foundation of her life.

Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for those around her. Her gentle spirit and generous heart leave behind a legacy of love and strength that will never be forgotten.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Edith Rummley and her brother, Donald Rummley.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Crawford; brother-in-law, David (Janet) Crawford; nieces, Tammy and Kriss; nephew, Austin Crawford as well as a host of close personal friends.
