Paul Hulbert, Iii

We sadly announce the passing of Paul Lewis Hulbert III on September 30, 2024.

Born on Father's Day, June 18, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Paul and Mary Hulbert he lived his entire life in Des Moines and graduated from Carlisle High School.

Paul was a good welder and a CDL holder.  He was a talented carpenter and glass glazier and member of both unions. He was an artist who loved to draw, paint, create glass artwork, refinish furniture, and fabricate and build hot rods.

He enjoyed spending time with his dad and his brother Scott working together in the shop, helping each other with their hot rods, going to car shows, or finding bargains at garage sales, swap meets and secondhand stores.

Paul loved animals and was an advocate for any he felt was being harmed.  His dog Max (short for Maxamus) was a rescue dog and was devoted to Paul.  You couldn't get too close to Paul without Max jumping in between you to "protect" him.

Paul is survived by his parents Paul and Mary Hulbert, his brother Scott, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and of course Max.

Paul never left his mom or dad or hung up the phone without saying "I love you."

We will miss you deeply Paul, but we are joyful and grateful to God to know we will see you again in Heaven.
