Patricia Ann Petersen

Patricia Ann Petersen, 56, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away at her home on September 13, 2026. Tricia was born on February 23, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a 1988 graduate of Prairie High School and earned an associate degree from Kirkwood Community College.

On May 13, 1995, Tricia married Ron Petersen. Together, they shared more than 31 years of marriage and built a life together in Des Moines with their many dogs they loved so much.

Tricia spent 13 years working in a clerical position for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her years of service reflected the dedication and commitment she brought to her work and everyday life.

Tricia is survived by her devoted husband, Ron Petersen, her loving sister, MaryBeth Kriegel, her parents in-law, Richard and Virginia Petersen, as well as her brothers in-law and sisters in-law, and all of the nieces and nephews she cherished so much. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Barney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll Eugene Kriegel and Alice Jean Emmert Kriegel.

Tricia will be remembered for the life she shared with Ron, the relationships she treasured, and the memories created throughout her 56 years. Her presence will be deeply missed, and those who knew and loved her will carry her memory with them in the years ahead.

Tricia will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
