Patricia Ann Gabriel

Patrica Ann "Pati" Gabriel was born December 20, 1948 to Caroline Sposeto and Arthur John Gabriel Sr. in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away July 8, 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa. Pati was the oldest of the three kids. In the year of 1956 the Gabriel family moved to Albany, California to start a new life. They stayed until family obligations brought them back to Des Moines.

Pati graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1968. She went to Grandview College, then started her work life for the State of Iowa. In 1974 her son Kemp Jason was born.

Pati enjoyed entertaining. She was a member of St. Anthony choir and a cast member of the Purple Palace Players. She was creative and always ready to volunteer for the St. Anthony's Altar and Rosary Society.

Pati is survived by her son Kemp, her sister Carolyn Lee (Larry) Hawk and her brother John (Kay) Gabriel. Three nephews, James T. Hawk, Michael (Chris) Gabriel, Anthony (Bridget) Gabriel and a niece Melissa Hawk.Two great-nephews, Hayes and Jude Gabriel. Multiple cousins and her aunt Anne Sposeto.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday July 20, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road Des Moines, Iowa 50315. Family will be available to visit with friends and family before services in the basement. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Pati Gabriel's name to the ARL of Iowa.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at MercyOne ICU and nurse Ben who took such good care of her until she passed.
