Oman Tucker Paulsen

October 19, 1972 — May 15, 2024

Born in Colorado, Oman was the beloved and long-awaited baby brother to 3 older sisters. From the moment he entered this big beautiful world, Oman was filled with a fervent sense of tenacity and perseverance. An indomitable spirit, his by nature, and his fight well fought to the bitter end.

A short time after his birth, Omans family moved to Montana. He spent the next 13 years growing up in 'God's country', nestled close to the Rocky Mountain Range with Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks like backyard playgrounds, less than a day's drive. Some of his favorite activities as a child were playing hide and seek in the Rimrocks and little league baseball. Either of which, often soaked up an entire evening after school or a complete Saturday until well past supper time.

In the summer of 1987, Oman moved to Hawaii for 2 years and then onto Utah where he graduated Highschool in 1990. In 1991, he joined the Army and quickly made his way up the ranks to Master Sergeant First Class as an Army Ranger. He served diligently in Somalia and Afghanistan, risking his life on many occasions to keep the vow and oath "no one left behind". Oman frequently said that his greatest personal loss in life was being witness to his fallen brothers of the military.

In 2016, Oman organized a charity, fittingly called "Unlimbited Life". Yes, "limb" with a "b", reflecting on the limb he lost fighting for his country. Oman knew first hand, that the physical wounds soldiers return with, are only the tiniest portion of what they have sacrificed on behalf of Americans freedom. "The most severe wounds", he said "are usually those that go unseen". Unlimbited Life was a platform for Vets to connect with other Vets who could truly understand each other just by making a simple phone call. He tirelessly advocated for the resources to help his military brothers and sisters adjust back to civilian life and begin to heal from all the many wounds they return with.

After his amputation and retiring from the Army, Oman served as a volunteer Fire-fighter for the Dillworth Fire Department for the next several years, until his physical body would no longer allow him to do so. Of all his accomplishments and service in life, his most honored title was that of Father. His son Franklin was, and is forever his pride and joy…. his whole heart.

Oman is survived by his son Franklin, three sisters, 3 nephews and a niece. His love for his beautiful native Montana ran deep, and with that requested it be his final resting place. Friends and family are invited to gather in his honor, at East Rosebud Lake on July 4th , 2024.

Our Brother, Uncle, Father, Soldier, Mentor, Patriot, Friend, and Hero.
