Norman Leroy Brown

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norman L Brown Jr., a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, who departed this life on October 13, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on August 28, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa. Norman was a lifelong resident of the city.Norman graduated from North High school in 1989 in which he was a 4 year member of the JROTC and participated in football. He then furthered his education attending Iowa State University and also DMACC where he received his Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems. He completed his specialization in Java application and made the DMACC's Presidents List on 4 occasions.He cherished moments spent cooking legendary meals and hosting cookouts, gathering loved ones around delicious food and laughter. An avid fisherman, boater and motorcycle enthusiast. He often found joy in outdoor adventures and was always eager to share these passions with those closest to him. He loved the Chicago Bears and enjoyed playing dominos in which he was considered a "Dominologist". Norman was known for his humor and ability to tell great jokes and stories.

He is survived by his loving mother, Deaconess Sharon K Brown, and his cherished daughter, Breanna (Dylan) Thomas, his grandchildren, Axell and Chloe Thomas, his brother, Michael (Evelyn) Brown, as well as nephew Mason Brown and niece Taylor Bimbi. He is also survived by his aunt Toni Brown, many cousins, and friends.Celebration of Life for Norman L Brown Jr. will be held on November 8th, 2025, at 12:00pm-3:00pm. Friends and family are invited to gather at The P.A.R.C. Recreation Center in Pleasant Hill IA, where we will come together to celebrate his life and the many ways he touched ours. The Celebration will honor his legacy and the love he spread throughout his life.He will be missed by all who knew him and will always hold a special place in our hearts.Norman was preceded in death by: his father Norman L Brown Sr.
