Neal Kemp

Neal Kemp passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 26, 2022 at the age of 65, surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor him. He was born to Richard and Madalene Kemp on October 17, 1956. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa.

Neal worked for his father at a young age then eventually co-owned and operated a business working as a masonry with his brothers Brian and Karl. You could say Neal was a home body. He loved working in his garage, playing all sorts of instruments, especially the drums, and he loved watching the History channel. Most of all, Neal loved all of his children and his dogs, Buster, Briggs, and Beni. In 1984, Neal married the love of his life Mary Ann. They were married for 39 years.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; children, Jason and Troy; step-children, Mary Jo Goode, Reda Beebe, Shanon (Nael) Farsakh, Shane Rogers, JoAnn Rogers and Ava (Matthew) Wiggins; siblings, Brian Kemp and Linda Wright; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; best friend, Mark Reeves; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Karl Kemp; and in-laws Charles and Mary Gaston.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Simplify Cremations & Funerals, 4821 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50315.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Mary Ann Kemp to help with funeral costs.
