Naomi Arlene Young

Naomi Arlene Young, age 91 of Des Moines, Ia, passed away on July 24, 2026. Naomi was born in Murray, IA, on December 29, 1934 to Dale and Della Leo (Bloomquist) Iiams.

Naomi wants everyone to go to heaven to be with Jesus, when their time comes. There is nothing more important. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Simply say Jesus I know I am a sinner. You died in place of me, so I could go to heaven by taking my sins, as God's perfect only son. Come into my heart, and thank you for forgiving my sins. Amen. Naomi not only wanted to share God's love with everyone, but also wanted to share God's truth as it is written in the Bible.

Naomi and her husband Gerald worked at First Church of the Open Bible in the children's nursery for over 20 years and also in children's ministry. Naomi went with the Asian Open Bible as it started its own location to support that church family. She remained faithful to missions support and giving and was a powerful prayer warrior!!

Naomi graduated from Murray High School in 1953. She worked at Northwestern Bell telephone company until 1983. Naomi loved people and loved serving the Lord.

Naomi is survived by Dixie Griffith, Debbie Moreno, her nieces.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Della Leo (Bloomquist) Iiams, and her husband Gerald Young.

The visitation will be at 10am, and the Service at 11am, on August 12, 2026 at 1st Church of the Open Bible, 2200 Beaver Ave, Des Moines, Ia. 50310.
