Monty Childs

Monty Childs, 82, of Pleasant Hill, died peacefully Saturday, October 1, 2022, at home.

There will be no formal services at this time.

Monty was born February 25, 1940, in Davenport, IA, the son of Claude and Gayle (Hudson) Childs. On January 28, 1989, he married Miriam Ruth Kaufman. She passed away on October 16, 2000.

Monty had a variety of different jobs throughout his lifetime. He had enjoyed retirement for many years.

Monty loved all animals but had a special place in his heart for horses.  Monty was an avid admirer of all things with wheels and always loved cars and had motorcycles.  He loved spending time with his family and loved ones. He was a super friendly and caring man. He liked to push his luck at Prairie Meadows from time to time.

He is survived by his daughter, Renee McAbee; his grandson, Austin Combs and step children, Debbie and Vicky and grandson, Dustin Hillis. Monty is survived by longtime girlfriend, Debbie Hansen, and her sons, John (Jenny) Hansen and Jordan Hansen.

Monty was welcomed into heaven by his wife, Miriam; his parents and two siblings, Ronnie Childs and Musezetta Childs.
