Michael Glenn Penney

Michael Glenn Penney "Mike", age 69 passed away July 10th, 2025 in Des Moines, IA.

A Veteran of the Army, Mike proudly served his country with distinction during the Vietnam war and embodying the value of courage and commitment that define our nations service. A chapter of his life that remained a lasting source of pride.

Mike moved to Florida early in life to start a family, and four years ago, he moved back to Iowa. He loved riding his motorcycle, shooting his bows, fishing, and working on cars. He also enjoyed putting together AC airplanes and cars, he actually won competitions for the airplanes.

Mike is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Meyer. His daughters, Rachael, Kristen, and Lisa. His sons, David, and Mike Penney. His sisters, Kathy (Jim) Kiferi, Marie (Ken) Grove, Georgia (Donny) Boley, and Terri (Scott) Hines. His grandchildren, Stephanie, Johnathan, Chase, Michael, and Zaira. His nieces, Nikki, Candice, Angie, Amanda Frahm, Misti Lynne, Dawn, Jenny, and Tiffany. His nephews, Shawn, Johnny, Joey, and Donnie and his great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, D. His father, George E. Penney, Sr. His brothers, Jerry Penney and George E. Penney, Jr. and nephew, David Sparks.

A memorial service will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa on August 5th. 2025 at 9:30 am. 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel, Ia 50003
