Matthew Raymond Traver

Matthew Raymond Traver Sr., 69, of Exira, Iowa, passed away in 2026 at home surrounded by Family. He was born on March 25, 1957, in Sioux City, Iowa, and attended Sioux City West.

Matthew worked as a maintenance technician for OSI Industries for more than 20 years. His many years in the profession reflected the hardworking and dedicated nature he carried throughout his life.

Matthew proudly served his country for two years in the Iowa National AirGuard.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. In his younger years, he was an avid roller skater. He also loved fishing and hunting and especially enjoyed a good game of cribbage-particularly when he was the one beating everyone else. Above all, Matthew treasured spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Matthew is survived by his brother Marc Traver, his sister Janette DeSmett, and his 3 sons, Matthew Traver Jr, and wife Jenny Paulson; Jason Freimark and wife Rita Freimark; and Tony Friemark. His grandchildren, Mariah Traver, Skylar Traver, and Jazmin Traver; Sara Freimark,Jason Robert Freimark,William Freimark and spouse Maria Parker. and his great grandkids Ariel and Aurora Freimark and Patience and Gianna Freimark.and many more cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Spindler Thomas , and his siblings, Christine Mildorfer and Howard Traver.
