Matthew Richard Gerhards was born on April 3, 1965. He passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, with his wife Michelle, whom he had been with for 26 years, at his side.
Matt attended Des Moines Technical High School. He then served in the Iowa Army National Guard where he served with his brother, Alex. He also worked as a delivery driver and an over the road truck driver.
Matthew had 4 children- David, Brian, Jon, and Ashley.
Matt enjoyed fishing, listening to music, movies, professional wrestling, spending time with his friends, going to the park, and tailgating at Iowa Hawkeye football games.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Michelle Johnson, his 3 sons, his brother Alex Gerhards, and other relatives.
