Matthew "Kilk" Caylor, 39, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1986, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles Caylor and Debra Winkelman.
Kilk proudly served in the United States Army for nine years, carrying himself with dedication and strength. That same sense of loyalty and commitment showed in every part of his life-from his family to his friendships and everything in between.
On March 3, 2025, Kilk married the love of his life, Macey Wignall. Their time together, though far too short, was filled with love and laughter. Macey brought joy into Kilk's life, and he cherished every moment they shared.
He was a devoted father to Brendan and Damian Caylor, and a caring stepfather to Ethan Armstrong. His children meant the world to him, and he took pride in the kind of father and role model he worked to be.
Kilk lived life with passion and joy. He enjoyed playing pool, riding his motorcycle, exploring the outdoors, listening to music, playing video games, and expressing his creativity through drawing, and strumming on his guitars. His love for animals, especially his dogs, was just one more way his kind heart shone through.
Kilk will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He lived with courage, laughed with ease, and gave generously-with no expectation of return.
He is survived by his wife, Macey Wignall; his sons, Brendan and Damian; his stepson, Ethan; his parents, Maurice and Debra Gillman; and his brother, Michael Caylor. He also leaves behind countless friends and loved ones who will carry his memory forward.
