Mary Lee Bandfield

Mary Lee Bandfield, age 78, of Knoxville, Iowa, formerly of Des Moines, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Marylee was born on January 15, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Frances (Abrams) Fincher. She was raised in the Des Moines and Albia areas and carried with her a deep love for family and friends throughout her life.

Marylee spent several years living in Colorado, where she enjoyed riding horses and exploring the outdoors. She had a generous heart and a warm spirit that made everyone feel like family. Marylee loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was known as "the best of friends" to all who knew her.

She enjoyed simple pleasures-going to the movies, dining at new restaurants, playing board games, and spending time with her beloved cat. Marylee also loved watching her favorite shows, especially Walker, Texas Ranger and Family Feud-but only when Steve Harvey was hosting.

Marylee was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, ChurRon; brother, Larry Fincher; and sister, Judith Breese. She is survived by her sister, Ann Shaver; brother, Jim Fincher; and best friend, Kim Doby; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Per Marylee's wishes, she has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
