Martha Rodriguez

Martha Rodriguez, 84, passed away on Tuesday morning February 21, 2023 surrounded by family.

Martha was born on December 18, 1938 to Manuel Rodriguez and Elena Ortega in Torreón Coahuila, Mexico. She had a happy childhood which she enjoyed with her many siblings. In 1956 she was united in marriage to Pablo Martinez and together they owned and operated a small quaint bakery. They would soon have their hands even more full with nine wonderful children. In the early 1990s Martha, her husband and many of her children would immigrate to the United States of America.

Martha had a playful attitude and a quick wit that was often, lovingly, at the expense of family members or anyone within her vicinity. She also loved to entertain, enjoyed spending time with family, playing the lotteria, baking cakes, and listening to Elvis. Martha also loved all things bedazzled, especially shoes.

She is survived by her brother Pepe, children (Rosa, Pablo, Norma, Alejandra, Javier, Pedro, Irma, Yolanda and Victor), grandchildren (Alejandro, Jorge, Ángel, Chuy, Elena, Maleni, Fernanda, Amber, Erika, Litzy, Carlos, Sebastian, Leonardo) and her 10 great grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brothers and sisters

Funeral service for Martha will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny.
