Mark Anthony Formaro, Sr.

Mark Anthony Formaro, Sr. passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the age of 51.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2023 at Simplify Cremations & Funerals with a funeral service to follow.

Mark was born June 14, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa to Gordon Kenneth Formaro, Jr. and Norleen Lorraine "Cookie" Anschutz Formaro.

He was selfless, kind and genuine. Mark was always happy and if you were having a bad day, he would try to cheer you up.  Mark had so much love for his family and friends. He had a very big heart and would do anything for the people around him.

His pride and joy were his two children and granddaughter.  Mark was so proud of them and he would brag about them to anyone that would listen.  Mark cared for his granddaughter the majority of the week and they loved to sing, dance and be silly together.  He loved spending time with her.  She always lit up his eyes when he saw his granddaughter. He called himself "2pops".

Mark loved playing baseball with his son growing up. One of his favorite things to do was embarrassing you in public by being goofy.  Mark loved boxing, football and taking rides on his bike. He was also a talented singer and loved to make music.

He is survived by his son, Mark Formaro, Jr. (Adira Ordaz); daughter, Lacey Formaro (Nicholas Morning); grandchildren, Carter Morning and Armani Morning; brother, Daniel Formaro Sr; grandmother, Sherry Abild; aunt Sherryl Link; and other extended family and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Cookie; brothers, Josh and Matt; grandparents, Gordon and Blanche.
