Lori Ann Wood

Lori Ann Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, and caregiver, passed away on June 9, 2023, at her home in Des Moines, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 24, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Delbert Casey and Barbara Barcus.

Lori grew up in Des Moines and attended school there, establishing deep roots in the community. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to taking care of others. Her nurturing and selfless nature made her a natural caregiver.

One of Lori's greatest joys in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and family. She treasured every moment she had with them, and her presence brought immense happiness to their lives. Lori found great delight in watching her family bowl, and she was always their biggest supporter. Lori was also known for her culinary talents, particularly her baking skills during the holidays.

Lori is survived by her children, Russell Casey, Bobbie (John) Waters, and Dusty Allen; grandchildren, Emily, Alexas, John John, Brooklynn, Timothy, and Sophia Waters; her siblings, Cherie Van Sickle (Frank Hill), Carol (Rob) Rodgers, Debra Casey, Gary Meyers, Robert Webb, and Todd Meyers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Barbara Casey, her loving husband, Michael Wood, and her son, Timothy Allen.

Visitation for Lori will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Interment will be held in Rising Sun Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
