Linda (Sue) Looney, age 77, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
Sue was born on August 24, 1948, in Nevada, Missouri, to T.R. and Dorothy (Inwood) Snow. She was a shy, sweet, and kind person whose gentle nature made her easy to love. Though private by nature, those fortunate enough to know her appreciated her quiet strength, loyalty, and remarkable independence. Even in her final days, Sue remained determined to do things her own way. One thing was almost always certain-she was never far from a Coca-Cola.
Sue dearly loved her grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow. She also enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals, following Tiger Woods' golf career, listening to Elvis Presley and 1980s music, watching movies on DVD, and perusing the aisles of her favorite stores. One of her greatest pastimes was working seek-and-find puzzles. She went through countless puzzle books over the years and always completed them in order, a habit she attributed to being a proud Virgo. Sue was also a devoted rule follower who appreciated structure and doing things the right way.
Sue dedicated many years of service to the KCI Hilton in Kansas City, where she was known for her exceptional work ethic and loyalty. Her commitment and dedication earned her the Employee of the Month award more times than her family could count.
As dementia gradually progressed, Sue moved to Iowa in 2018 to live with her daughter Vicki and her family. The move was a difficult one for Sue, as Kansas City was a place she deeply loved and always considered home.
Now, after eight years of challenges, Sue is free from frustration and illness. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly, especially her beloved mother and Grandfather Inwood, whom she adored. They also imagine her being welcomed home by her mother-in-law, Leta, and Grandmother Brockman, who always considered Sue one of their own daughters.
Sue is lovingly survived by her daughters, Vicki Clubine (Robert) and Stephanie Keranen (Dean); her grandchildren, Colby Lupfer, Ashton Clubine, Emma Clubine, and Kylie Keranen; her siblings, Kay Carder (Kerry), Bill Snow (Laura), and Julie Martin; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, T.R. and Dorothy Snow; and her brother, Bob Snow.
