Linda Kay Hugen

Linda Kay Hugen was born October 28, 1951 to Donald and Joanne (Ruvoldt) Arpy in Des Moines, Iowa. Linda was one of 5 children,  Donald Arpy, Michael (Julie) Arpy, Edward Arpy and Debbie (Glen) Bevell.

On June 10th, 1971 Linda married the love of her life Dennis Hugen and settled in Indianola Iowa.  The couple welcomed their son Robert Hugen to make their family complete.

Linda was very proud of her long career in Iowa government. At 19 years old, Linda began that career as a secretary with the Iowa Department of Revenue. With Linda's strong work ethic, she moved her way up to Department Administrator with the Iowa Department of Revenue where she retired at 55 years old.

Linda adored and was most proud of her three grandchildren Maia, Michael and Mitchell Hugen and her three great grandchildren Ryker, Grayson and Elyanna to whom she is known as Grandma Lin Lin. Linda spent countless hours teaching them all her love of cards and fishing.

Of all of Linda's passions in life, she greatly enjoyed fishing with her brother Ed and her grandkids and playing cards with her family and friends.

Linda was outgoing, spunky and the life of the party at the many Arpy family gatherings and camp outs where she enjoyed joking, playing cards or Bocce ball and catching up with her nieces, nephews and their families.

On July 4, 2024 Linda was reunited in death with the love of her life Dennis, her grandparents, her parents and her Brother Donald.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
