John Wilson

L. John Wilson, 74, Passed away February 6th 2026, in the comforts of his home. He was born March 14th, 1951, in Marshalltown, the son of Leonard (Pete) and Donna Wilson.

Surviving is his wife of 18 years, Lisa (Floyd) Wilson, his sons John (Megan) Wilson and Chris (Melinda) Wilson, his Step daughters Jenny Stone, Kelly (Paul) Leydens, his siblings Marsha (Skip) Beebe, Greg (Sheila) Wilson, Becky (Don) Hayes, Pete (Deniece) Wilson, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

John graduated from Des Moines Tech High School in 1969. During high school he participated in multiple sports but enjoyed wrestling the most. John went on to become a truck driver and worked at Anderson Erickson, where he retired after 40 years of service.

John loved enjoying family time and had several hobbies including trains, racing, tin soldiers, but was most passionate about Ford Model A's. He was a member of the Model A and Model T club and enjoyed taking long trips with his friends and family in the cars he built and maintained. He enjoyed helping others with their cars and was always willing to help and offer advice.

John will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the Model A community.
