Lela Faye Murrow

Lela Murrow passed away Tuesday, November 1st at Stuart Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa.

Lela was born April 19, 1930 in Jonesboro Arkansas to Charlie and Girley Jewel Gambill. After Graduating High School, Lela came to Iowa with a friend. There she met Dale Murrow and was married June 9, 1951. Together they had two children, Daletta and Doug.

Lela loved to garden, sew, craft and plant flowers in her yard. Lela was a cook for S.E. Polk Schools for 10 years.

Lela is survived by her children, Daletta Fairchild and Doug Murrow; 4 grandchildren, Tim (Michelle) Morlan, Jeff (Alexis) Morlan, Teresa Salazar and Jake Murrow; 7 great-grandsons; 2 great-granddaughters.

Lela is Proceeded in death by her parents, Charlie and Girley Jewell Gambill; husband, Dale Murrow; Sisters, Eska Lee (Nolan) Turner, Juanita (May) Harris; brothers, Bill and Harold Gambill; son-in-law, Tim Fairchild; 2 great angel granddaughters, Olivia and Charleston; brother- and sister-in-law Ed and Lilth Thomas; and niece, Reverend Jo Ann Thomas.

Graveside Funeral will be Saturday November 19 at 11:00 at Spry Cemetery 2387 S.E. 104th, Runnells, Iowa at the farm, celebration of life to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be sent to The Alzheimers unit at Stuart Community Care Center, 325 S.W. 7th Street, Stuart, Iowa, 50250
