Larry Allen Saltzman

Larry Allen Saltzman, 61, of Harvey, Iowa, passed away on July 30, 2026, at Taylor House in Des Moines. Born on May 26, 1965, in Des Moines, Larry was a lifelong Iowan whose greatest pride came from the work of his hands, the love of his family, and the simple joys of creating something lasting.

Larry was a skilled craftsman whose talents spanned many trades. Throughout his career, he worked as a general contractor, concrete finisher, carpenter, roofer, carpet layer, and groundskeeper. Whether building a home from the ground up, completing intricate finish work, or improving a landscape, Larry took pride in every project and believed that hard work spoke for itself. He worked as a General Contractor, Bob's Flooring, and Marion Gordon during his career.

On April 22, 2016, Larry married the love of his life, Ronda Lee Elder-Saltzman. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.

Outside of work, Larry had a creative soul. He enjoyed art, coloring, drawing, and listening to music. He had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and found satisfaction in building and creating with his own hands. Gardening brought him peace, and he loved watching the fruits of his labor grow, just as he did with every project he completed.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Ronda Elder-Saltzman; his three sons, Steven, Eric, and Nathan Saltzman; his brother, Mick Eblen; and his cherished grandchildren, Annilee Mae Wymore, Jaxson, Rose, Nova, and Nico Saltzman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mick Eblen and Connie Eblen and by his brother, Dean Eblen.

Larry will be remembered as a hardworking man with a creative spirit, someone who could build almost anything and who found joy in both craftsmanship and the beauty of everyday life. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the countless things he built with care and dedication.
