Kristin Jo Lampkin

Kristin Jo (Sneed) Lampkin, 35, of Pleasant Hill, IA passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Kristin was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on March 17, 1989. She graduated from Colfax-Mingo High School in 2007 and Mount Mercy College in 2012. She later on received her masters degree. Kristin  taught school in the Des Moines Public school system and was a teacher at Lovejoy Elementary School teaching kindergarten and first grade. She had a special love for her school family and found  joy teaching children. Her infectious smile lit up a room.

Kristin was united in marriage to Kyle Lampkin in 2016 and together made their home in Pleasant Hill, IA. Together they had two sons, Harrison (6) and Everson (3) who were her everything and gave her strength to endure. Kristin leaves a legacy behind, including her love of laughter, music, and spending time with her family. The three guys in her life were the light in the dark and gave her the will to fight. Kristin was a huge Minnesota Vikings Fan (purple was her favorite color), not only on game day!

Kristin is survived by her husband Kyle Lampkin, sons, Harrison, Everson, two fur babies, Shooter and Gotti, parents, Jerry and Kathy Sneed of Colfax, IA, two grandmothers, Ann McQuerry, Dee Nichols, father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Renae Lampkin of Pleasant Hill, numerous siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Kristin's life. Details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.In the meantime, we invite family and friends to share their memories and condolences.
