Kimberly Kay Little

April 9, 1959 — July 27, 2025

Kimberly Kay Little died unexpectedly but peacefully on July 27, 2025, at Methodist

Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by family. She was only 66 years old. She

was born on April 9, 1959, to David & Janet Ashe in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Kim will always be held in the highest regard by her family and close friends. She was a

pillar of strength, integrity & dignity. Her quick, ready wit easily made her the delight of

any dinner table. Her sweet, sarcastic & sometimes cynical outlook on life in general

was always refreshing and full of intelligent advice that has gotten us all through difficult

times. Her conversations were always philosophical, genuine, and held with purpose;

mom was ever the devil's advocate. She loved to make you think.

Kim was a dedicated, loving & loyal daughter, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed

the simple, day-to-day events of family life whether it was a meal, a movie or a shopping

trip. She always tried to make the little things in life special for everyone around her; she

was secretly sentimental. She loved her home and the nature in her backyard. Always

working on some little area or project to make it more beautiful. We will miss the days of

sitting at the kitchen table talking with her and looking out over the peaceful little

sanctuary she built for herself and all of us. She was everything to our small but very

close family - the Queen on our chessboard. She will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Austin Ashe & Aunt, Jeanne Miller.

She is survived by her mother Janet Estelle Ashe, siblings Alyssa and Jeffrey Ashe,

Ron Little, their children, Allison Little (Chad Schwartz) and Aaron Little (Annie Stone),

and grandchildren, Dylan and Kamryn Schwartz.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life Autumn 2025 to toast her fiery spirit,

brilliant mind & deep, comforting soul.
