Kimberly Kay Warn Hinkle, 65, went home to our Good Lord on October 14, 2024. She reunites with her beloved son Ryan Wood, both parents Vernon and Clarice Warn.
Kim was born on June 2, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa. In her early child hood, she was raised in the country and later moved to Des Moines with her family. She was considered the "baby" of the family, she looked up to and learned from her two older brothers. She later helped her parents with their numerous business ventures and was active with family. As an adult she worked at Stone Container Bag Division and Amoco Corporate.
Kim hosted many sleepovers with her nieces, and would take them to the drive-in movies and celebrate their birthdays and holidays. Kim loved to cook. She was such a good cook, her favorite was dessert. If she was bringing the pie for the holiday dinner, you could count on it, she would bring at least four pies. Once she made a 12 pound carrot cake. She owned every cooking gadget new to the market, we all teased her about it. She loved to host and shared her love of cooking with family and friends.
Kim married later in life and was blessed to adopt a baby boy she named Ryan, she was in love with him. Ryan went home to the Lord at an early age of 22. The loss of Ryan broke her heart, and that changed her for the reminder of her life. We truly believe besides the health issues, she died from a broken heart.
Kim leaves behind two brothers Larry Warn and David (Gretchen) Warn, Nephew Brad (Tracy) Warn, three nieces Tammy (Dean Poortinga), Dina Fedor and Shelli (Dave) Osthus. Several great nephews and nieces as well as extended family. She was also blessed with a step daughter Jordan McCann (Bart) and three grandchildren Atlanta, Abel and Anabelle and partner Scott Mozga. She will be truly missed by her faithful fur baby Dodger, who she spoiled like a child.
Although we lost Kim, we find great comfort and peace with acknowledging she is no longer suffering with health issues , and she is where she belongs with our Lord. We accept her loss and celebrate her homecoming.
