Kevin William Yearington born May 19th 1966 in Creston Iowa to Bill Yearington and Georgia Yearington (Burg) went to meet our father in heaven for a well deserved rest on April 9th 2023 at Methodist hospital after surviving many battles with his health. He was a beloved husband to Rita Yearington. Father to Victor Yearington and step children Ranell, Richard, and Torrie. Brother to; Michael and wife Karla Yearington; Shawn Yearington of Osceola; and sisters Jody and husband Gary Gray of Ames; Heather Yearington who passed away in 1972.
Uncle to Billi Gray, Quinton Gray, Patrick and Emily Gray, Mykelann Gray, Lizzy and Cory Sauerman, Chance Yearington, and Tru Yearington who passed away in 2009. Great Uncle to Kashdyn, Stetson and Parker. Step great uncle to Owen.
He had recently been blessed with a special granddaughter Vivian Grace Yearington who had a very special place in his heart and he was so proud of her. Vivian will know her grandfather through her family. He had several step grandchildren; Miriah, Jonathan, Randell, Dakota, Paige, Lacey, Breezie, and Tierra. He also had step great grandchildren Demetirus, Faye, Melaune, Mailaune, Payton, and Clara.
Kevin was an extraordinary man with a heart big enough for all. Most who met him thought he was a grumpy old man, but he was really a gentle giant with a very big heart. He was always willing to help whenever you needed it and would not want anything in return. Many times even taking people into his home. He would rarely ever ask for help for himself.
Kevin enjoyed helping his dad Bill put up Christmas Lights for many years, only to continue the tradition after his dad passed. Every year many would stop to tell Kevin how much they enjoyed the lights. However the grandchildren didn't always enjoy having to help, especially when they had to put the darn deers together, or check lights when they wouldnt work. He was also a lover of Star Wars and Marvel, always going to the movies with his mother, son or grandchildren. He always loved movies, and had a very large collection. He was a collector of many things. He loved Coca Cola both drinking it, and collecting the memorabilia. God forbid someone would get rid of something, because it would come home with him. He would always have a reason for bringing it home, and would talk about making something useful out of it. That is why you couldnt park a car in the garage, but we loved him regardless. He had also been in a band with a very beloved friend Rob Fuller called Blood Tower.
Kevin you will be missed by many, and we know you will be watching over all of us.
