Jon Patrick Stille

Jon Patrick "Pat" Stille, 60, passed away peacefully at his home on August 5, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 11, 2026, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Union Park West-Margaret Swanson Enclosed Shelter, 715 Guthrie Ave., Des Moines, IA 50316.

Pat was born on September 29, 1965, in Texas to Jon Henry and Dian. He worked as an ironworker for many years. Later in life, he became known to many of his friends as "Shaggy" or simply "Shag." Pat loved playing cards, especially cribbage, and was a devoted NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was full of "useless" facts and was always saying, "Hard tellin', not knowin'." Whenever someone was hesitant to try something unusual to eat, he'd tell them, "Just eat it-it'll put hair on your chest!"

Pat's greatest joy in life was spending time with his daughters, Tabitha and Brooke, and his grandchildren, Natalyee and Jensyn. He hardly ever missed a dance recital, basketball game, or tennis match. He was stubborn and fiercely independent, but he was always willing to help anyone in need and would truly give you the shirt off his back.

Pat is survived by his daughters, Tabitha (Rian) Klinefeldt and Brooke (Amber) Stille; his grandchildren, Natalyee and Jensyn; his mother, Dian Grafton; his sister, Crystal (Paul) Eshelman; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jon Henry, and his grandparents, lovingly known as Mimi and Papa.
