Jerry Lee Best

Our beloved father, Jerry Lee Best, age 64, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on February 19th, 2026, in the comfort and love of his family.

He was born September 1, 1961 in Oklahoma. He spent a lifetime as a proud employee of Iowa EPS Products, growing the business and his skills within the industry. Despite being in sales, he was never a social man. The greatest gift in working with him was knowing that all decisions were made with absolute certainty and backed by a depth of knowledge that will be irreplaceable.

In his time away from work, he could be found creating amazing dishes, or in the absence of cooking, defining a list of acceptable restaurants to enjoy (or blacklisting those which mildly offended him).

He is survived by his life long partner, Denise; his five children, Laura, Taylor, Kelly, Oliver and Jayln; his grandson Ezra; his brothers, Tom, Mike and Chuck; and his mother Anna and adoptive father George.

A memorial service will be held at Simplify Cremations & Funerals, (4821 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315), on Wednesday the 25th from 2 to 4pm. The family invites friends to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
